Tembo Power is an independent renewable power producer funded by private investors, based in Mauritius, and developing medium-sized hydroelectric projects (<50MW), as well as photovoltaic projects (as part of hydro- solar hybrid systems) in Sub-Saharan Africa, with the aim to provide reliable and affordable electricity to remote areas of that region.
We are hereby pleased to invite investors to submit expressions of interest to invest alongside Tembo Power in the Dama (9.6MW) and Sigu (12.4MW) hydropower projects in the Rumonge and Bururi provinces of Burundi respectively. The projects are now reaching their final development stage.
These two run-of-river medium and high-head projects have minimal environmental and social impacts, and are developed according to the most stringent standards to attract international lenders. They are expected to generate a combined 105 GWh of annual output, and are totalling circa $65m of construction costs. The Company aims at reaching financial close for both projects in Q2 2023.
